I submitted my claim for this NVIDIA Settlement on Oct. 1, 2010 and received an email registration confirmation on it. I have a COMPAQ PRESARIO F572US notebook. WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO HAVE MY COMPUTER REPAIRED OR REPLACE? It has been 6 months and I have received no further correspondence on it!

PLEASE ADVISE

Some people who have sent in their notebooks or tablets at much later dates have received their replacements. The only course of action is to call the settlement administrator.

The claim process didn’t actually open up until January 13, 2011. If you did not file a claim between January 13, 2011 and March 14, 2011, then you may have missed your only opportunity to file a claim. You should keep checking back on this site to see if Judge Ware reopens the claim period.

My Compaq F730US, which has a part number GRxxxUA which is not on the Nvidia fail list, has literally every symptom described on every site and blog about the Nvidia chip issue. This $800 laptop my son was using for homework etc. is now an expensive doorstop. How many other HP/Compaq laptops are out there that are going to start failing as mine did April 16th?

I also have an HP Pavilion Entertainment PC with all the symptoms/problems and the NVDIA GPU, but my system is not listed. My system failed before the original settlement decision, but I did not know about the litigation. Plus it took me a week (wasted and frustrated) to determine the cause. My system is rather useless. These systems need to become part of the new settlement. This is plain awful. It is important that ALL affected users be compensated. We need to stand together on this and we should not accept ANOTHER half-a$$ed decision which only satisfies a FEW more.

I filed my paperwork for the litigation for HP last year and the paperwork stated that there was a hearing scheduled in December 2010. I have a HP DV64449 which was part of the lawsuit and have not heard anything about getting my laptop repaired or replaced. I had laptop for less than 2 years before it stop working totally, just like everyone else who purchased laptop. First problems with the wireless, which I just got a wireless adaptor to replace it, but then the on/off switch stop working and then the computer just quit on my totally. What is up with this? Hope someone can help me.
Thanks

I had 2 laptops that fell under this settlement — 1 exhibiting symptoms, 1 not, so I filed for one laptop. Right afterwards, the other started having symptoms. Still waiting to receive the replacement and hoping that the claim period opens again. Will we get notified again if it does?

I own a HP TX2010 that incorporates the same NVIDIA GeForce 6150 GPU Chipset that the TX1xxx series uses and has a huge overheating issue whenever I try to play a movie online or in the DVD player (so it’s not the DVD player) if the computer in Power Saving mode. If its in Power Saver Mode it works fine and can play videos both online and from the DVD player. Antriksh Yadav in his ezine article entitled “Fix HP TX2000 Series from Overheating” (http://ezinearticles.com/?Fix-HP-Tx2000-Series-From-Overheating&id=5304440) says the solution to the overheating problem is to change your power profile to Power Saving Mode as this decreases the electrical current to all of the components thus reducing the amount of heat produced by the GPU. So why wasn’t the TX2000 recalled or included in the settlement? HP was absolutely ruthless when I called them regarding this issue. Their escalation team is little more than a squad of robo-thugs who contstantly recite their mantra of “you are out of warranty there is nothing I can do” and “I am the final point of contact at HP for you.” If these non collegiate, under educated idiots are the final point of contact you HP shareholders should start unloading right now. If any of you are interested in starting a class action law suit please notify me on my web page http://crazypoliticos.com/ where you can both blog and email me with your information. Let’s get these bastards. It’s not just about us, it’s about America, corporate arrogance and dishonesty and profiteering at the expense of good faith consumers. These computers were not cheap. They were expensive as hell. Please, if you are similarly situated, please stand up to them, harrass them, sue them…do whatever you can to make them pay. I personally recommend spreading rumors about certain things if you know what I mean. Nothing like shareholders taking a bath in the market to bring corporate stooges around. Also, what the hell is up with that phony baloney settlement that gives the lawyers $13 million and the plaintiffs $2 million? That’s really twisted. Assuming a cost of approximately $1,500 per unit that’s only 1000 defective computer. Okay, add in their profit margin, say 50%, fine it’s 2000 computers. Wait, it occurs to me that if HP had to replace only 3000 defective computers at a cost of $500 a piece that equals $15 million. I’m thinking they sold a heck of a lot more than 3000 computers. Do the math people, the whole thing is a friggin scam.

P.S. I’ll see you both in small claims court NVIDIA and HP. Let’s see how much you want to put out in legal fees.

HP’s so called Escalation team is a bunch of liars and deception artists. They deflect, distract, repeat but they don’t listen. They lie without compunction. DON’T PURCHASE HP COMPUTERS, DON’T SPEND A LOT OF MONEY BECAUSE THEY DON’T STAND BEHIND THEIR HIGH END PRODUCTS!!! THEY MANUFACTURE COMPUTERS THEY KNOW ARE BROKEN AND SELL THEM TO UNWITTING CUSTOMERS. HP IS SLIME!!!!

Where’s Acer? Google “Acer 8600m gt overheating” and you get 25,000 results, most complaints on forums over the last 3 years.

Do Acer owners not get justice?

I purchased a f700, that also is having virtually all the same problems that the other models that are being replaced are having. It will not power on, and stay on. That’s the main problem. Please feel free to contact me if there is any new news on anything that I can do to have this replaced or repaired.

Is there any way I can still be compensated? I never was made aware of this Class Action lawsuit.
